Nimble Giant Entertainment is looking for a full-time Sound Engineer (Semi Senior) to join our team and contribute to the development of high-quality AAA game experiences.
In this role, you will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of audio systems, tools, and pipelines that empower sound designers and enhance the overall audio experience in our games. You will collaborate closely with Audio, Design, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth integration between gameplay systems and audio, while learning and growing within a highly experienced team.
We are looking for someone with a solid technical foundation, a passion for interactive audio, and a proactive mindset to solve problems and continuously improve.
Responsibilities
Implement and support audio systems and features within Unreal Engine.
Assist in developing and maintaining tools and pipelines for sound designers.
Integrate and support audio middleware (e.g., Wwise, FMOD) in collaboration with senior team members.
Help implement and optimize runtime audio behaviors, mixing, and spatialization.
Work closely with Sound Designers to integrate, debug, and polish audio content in-game.
Connect gameplay systems, animation, UI, and other features with audio systems under guidance.
Debug and resolve audio-related issues across the development cycle.
Ensure implemented features meet performance and technical requirements.
Contribute to documentation and follow established technical guidelines.
Collaborate with the team to identify issues and propose improvements.
Requirements
2–4 years of professional experience as an Audio Programmer or similar role.
Experience working on game development projects (AAA experience is a plus but not mandatory).
Solid programming skills in C++.
Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine.
Familiarity with audio middleware such as Wwise or FMOD.
Basic understanding of real-time audio systems and interactive audio concepts.
Experience working with version control systems (Perforce, Git, etc.).
Strong debugging, problem-solving, and learning skills.
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (Audio, Design, Engineering, QA).
Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal).
Nice to Have
Experience contributing to a shipped PC or console title.
Exposure to audio tools or pipeline development.
Familiarity with spatial audio systems.
